Reserviors

Where does nitrogen come from?

1. dead organisms: dead plants and organisms are a food source for decomposing bacteria.

2. decomposers: they convert nitrates to nitrogen gaswhich is then released into our atmosphere through denitrification.

3.excretion: Amonium ions, ammonia, urea, and uric acid contain nitrogen which is released into the ecosystem.
